How do flight deal email alerts work?

Flight deals are sent directly to your inbox via email. Our flight deal alert service works differently than a travel agency: we don’t make the deals, we find them! When we find a deal from your home airport(s), we send an email right to your inbox. You can also see previously sent deals in your Premium account. When you get an email alert for a deal you’re interested in, follow our instructions to book directly with the airline.

What kind of flight deals are included?

We find the hottest domestic and international flight deals including economy cash fares, business class fares, and award tickets bookable with points and miles from almost every U.S. and Canadian airport. Yes: we find flight deals from your city!

Do you find flights from my hometown?

We find flights from over 200 U.S. & Canadian departure cities! If you live in a small town with a regional airport and don’t think you can get a cheap flight from your airport, you’ll be shocked at the half-off fares we find from your town.

How many airports can I get flight deals from?

You can can get flight deals from as many of the over 200 U.S. & Canadian departure cities that we cover, as you want!

Are these deals for last-minute travel?

Nope - we don’t find last-minute deals! We find flight deals available up to 11 months in advance.

What if I only travel once per year?

Even if you only book one flight deal we alert you to a year, you’ll save at least $200 - enough to pay for the next 4 years of your membership!

Will these fares have long layovers?

Our rule of thumb is this: We don’t share any flight deals we wouldn’t book ourselves. We cap the number of stops and duration of layovers to ensure we’re only sending the best deals.

What types of award sales with points and miles do you find?

You’ll get instant alerts for cheap award tickets bookable with frequent flyer miles on American, Delta, and United (and many other loyalty currencies). From economy deals with Delta SkyMiles to first class fares flying ANA or Singapore - we have almost every possible award routing covered!

What about business or first class fares?

We find premium economy, business, and first class fares. Most business & first class deals are from major U.S. cities like NYC, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Washington, DC. To get every business and first class deal we find you can select "All Business Class deals" in your Premium settings.

How do I see the Premium flight deals?

As soon as we find a deal from your home airport(s) a flight deal alert will go directly to your email inbox. You can log in to your Premium Settings to see previously sent deals. But the deals are time sensitive, so check your email inbox first!

What if I only want deals to a specific destination?

You are not able to specify a destination. We find incredible deals worldwide and you’ll likely book a deal to destinations you’ve never thought of. We hope you’ll end up going on an amazing vacation to somewhere completely new to you!

I have a specific trip with set dates coming up. Is this service for me?

If you don’t have specific dates for an upcoming trip, then Thrifty Traveler Premium will work great. If you’re only looking for flights for very specific dates, Google Flights price alerts are your best option.

If I join the service will you help me find cheap flights for my trip, or help me use my points and miles?

Unfortunately, we do not offer personalized booking services. We have a ton of great information on our website on how to book the cheapest flight possible, and tips on how to use different points and miles. Our Premium member-only Facebook group is another great resource.

How do hotel alerts work?

Hotel subscribers will receive additional email alerts for award space availability (bookable with points) at Hilton, Hyatt, IHG, and Marriott properties worldwide - primarily luxury properties, all-inclusive resorts, and hard-to-book hotels. You’ll also see hotel recommendations - bookable with points as well as discounted paid rates - inside almost every flight deal. Hotel alerts are available as an optional add-on to existing Thrifty Traveler Premium members for an additional $24.99 annually. You can upgrade within your account settings .

Will I only get hotel deals bookable with points or discounted paid rates, too?

Both! Members who add Hotel Alerts to their subscriptions will get email alerts for hotels bookable with points and discounted paid rates for hotel stays recommended within most flight deals.

How often will I get Hotel Alerts in my inbox?

Depending on your settings, you can expect to receive two to three hotel email alerts a week - plus additional hotel recommendations within each Premium flight deal.

How can I purchase hotel alerts?

New subscribers can purchase a bundle with both Premium Flight and Hotel Alerts. Existing Premium subscribers can add Hotel Alerts to their subscription by logging into their account .

Can I subscribe to hotel alerts separately?

No, we don’t currently offer Hotel Alerts as a standalone service.

Will adding or removing Hotel Alerts affect my current Premium subscription price?

No. If you add or remove Hotel Alerts, your Premium flight deal subscription will still be locked in at your original rate.

How do I log into Thrifty Traveler Premium?

Click login at the top of the page or visit https://app.thriftytraveler.com/login and enter your email and password or use our magic link. Once you’re logged in, you’ll be able to access flight and hotel deals, change your departure cities, adjust your filters, email and billing preferences, or begin travel credit card consulting.

How do I update my departure airport preferences?

By default, you'll receive emails for all U.S. and Canadian departure cities. To change your departure preferences you can log in here . Consider adding major airports near you to receive more deals.

I'm not receiving my Premium flight deal alerts. Help!

Your Premium emails are likely going into the “Spam”, “Trash”, or “Promotions” folders. Check out our guide and be sure to mark our emails as “Not Spam”. In Gmail, you can also drag and drop one of our Premium emails into the “Primary” tab, which will ensure it's always in your primary inbox. You can also avoid any issues in the future by adding jared [at] thriftytraveler.com to your email contact list. If you still can't find the emails then shoot us an email at help [at] thriftytraveler.com.

Do I need to resubscribe each year?

Nope! Your Premium membership is a subscription, so your membership will automatically renew once per year. The best part is once you’ve subscribed, your price is locked in for life and will never increase.

What is your refund policy?

How do I cancel my membership?

You can log in to cancel your Premium membership via your online account .
